There’s a new textile jacket and trouser combination from Buffalo. Named Sonar, the pair can be joined by an 8-inch connecting zip. Both parts feature a 600-Denier outer, a removable quilted thermal liner and a waterproof, windproof and breathable drop liner.

Between the two of them, you get CE-approved armour at the knees, shoulders and elbows, and there’s a pocket for a back protector. In total, you get 11 pockets. The jacket gets 4 external with poppers and zips, 1 external with a waterproof zip, 3 internal and 1 map pocket. The trousers also have 2 external concealed waist pockets with zips as well. And your keys will be in the last pocket you check.

There are zipped vents at the shoulders arms and back of the jacket, plus on the trouser thighs. And the trousers also have removable and adjustable braces with a rear support panel, and a raised back to stop water seeping in whenever you lean forwards or back.
Velcro straps at the cuffs, collar and waist, plus straps on the upper and lower arms, allow you to fit extra layers underneath or go for a tighter fit and still avoid bagginess and flapping around in the breeze.

Despite the fact that braces have never, and will never, look cool, the Buffalo Sonar jacket and trousers look OK in the Black/Gun colour scheme, they come in sizes S-5XL, and are reasonably priced at £119.99 for the jacket, and £89.99 for the trousers.
