Yamaha NMAX scooter details and video

The 2015 Yamaha NMAX is a new 125cc 4-valve liquid cooled scooter which is being pitched as an ‘entry-level city scooter’ for those who want a bit more quality for commuting and riding around town.

The less naff sounding, and better looking, ‘Power Red’.

It’s reasonably stylish, with ABS as standard. The 13-inch wheels and 130 section rear tyre also get 230mm front and rear brake discs. The lights are LED and the instrument panel is LCD as you might expect. And you get a choice of four colours, Power Red, Frozen Titanium, Midnight Black and the hopefully coffee bar inspired Milky White. And here’s a video of it in action from Yamaha Motor Europe.

Prices have yet to be announced, but the NMAX should arrive around June 2015. And for car park boasting, you’ll be able to talk about the Variable Valve Actuation which aims to produce a smooth and linear torque curve with added performance in the low-to-mid range. The radiator is also mounted on the side of the motor to give you more footboard space.

We’d pick Midnight Black or Power Red (above) as the most stylish
