Spring and Summer on the way mean the neighbours are dragging their flymo out of the shed and you can hear the screams of kids rediscovering the trampoline in the garden. And the sound of motorcycles on the local bypass now that they’ve been dragged out of winter hibernation in the shed.

Even a typical stop at the local petrol station can discover something interesting. The ‘ring a ding ding’ of an air-cooled two-stroke made my ears prick up and took me back in time.

I didn’t catch the name of my newest mate, but I managed to get his life story on the petrol station forecourt. It was the usual tale of how he’d had a Suzuki TS100 when he was a youth, and now he had one again. Those of us who have reached a certain age have all been there – and you youngsters will get there soon enough.
It was great to share his passion for the TS100, shining brighter than the Spring sunshine as he relived his teens with me. We might have been total strangers, but we parted as mates – something that only tends to happen with motorcycles.
Whatever you’ve got tucked away in your garage, shed or memory banks, it’s time to dig it out. Make the most of the sunshine while we’ve got it, and share your passion. And make sure you share your bike, or any interesting motorcycles you spot on your travels with us – email rescogs@hotmodmedia.com, or share your pics via Facebook, Twitter.
