European Superstock and three-time British Supersport champion Karl Harris has died following a crash on the second lap of the Superstock TT at the Isle of Man on Tuesday, June 3rd.
The 34-year-old rider from Sheffield began his motorcycle career in 1996, and broke through with his European title in 1996 on a Suzuki GSXR-750. In 2001 he claimed the British Supersport title, also on a Suzuki, and repeated the feat for HM Plant Honda in 2003 and 2004. From 2005 he largely competed in the British Superbike class, with a highest championship position of 5th in 2006.

Harris made is TT debut in 2012, and was riding the Moto Breakers Kawasaki ZX-10R when he crashed in the Joey’s Corner area of the track on the final lap of the race. The incident also involved Manxman Joe Faragher who has a broken leg.
It’s the second fatality at the 2014 Isle of Man TT, following the death of Bob Price, 65, at Ballaugh Bridge during Monday’s TT Supersport race, and also follows the sad death of Simon Andrews at the North West 200 in May.
Our sincere condolences to the family, friends and teams of both riders.
Rest in peace Harris and Simons.
