After a dramatic, and at times tragic, MotoGP season which saw the title dominated by Honda and Casey Stoner, it appears that Valentino Rossi turned to popular videogame Gran Turismo 5 for some light relief post-season, issuing a challenge to almost 250,000 Twitter followers to beat his laptime.
Unfortunately for him, one person that responded quickly was Yamaha star Jorge Lorenzo, who not only beat his time by 15 seconds after a bit of trash talking, but has since recorded an even faster time.
In case you’re wondering, Rossi’s challenge was the Paganzi Zonda R at the Nurburgring, with a lap of 6:14.211, in simulation mode, with no assists except for traction control at level 5, and with a steering wheel. Lorenzo managed a 5:58.270, and then went on to record a 5:48.7.
