Motorcycle Live: Racing Aprilias on display

Motorcycle Live: Racing Aprilias on display

November 16, 2011 By DanThornton Leave a Comment

Motorcycle Live runs from November 19th to 27th at the NEC in Birmingham, and it’s worth making a note of the Aprilia stand in Hall 3, R430, as they will have a special display of racing machines alongside the full range of road bikes including the RSV4 Factory APRC and Tuono V4 APRC. The bikes on display include Noriyuki Haga’s Aprilia Racing RS Cube from 2003, which was the four stroke MotoGP machine which was built with F1 technology and was legendarily difficult for riders to tame. However, by pushing the boundaries of motorcycle electronics it gave birth to the Ride by Wire and Traction Control systems currently in use.

Also on display is Max Biaggi’s Aprilia RSV4 World Superbike which came as the result of both Racing and Production teams coming together, with a 65 degree V4

Alvaro Bautista’s Aprilia racing RSV250 will also be there from the 2009 season, which was the last of the two-stroke GP bikes, by which time it had reached 100bhp with a weight of just 100kg. This bike took Bautista to two wins, three second places, five third places and three pole positions.

And to round out the race bikes on display will be Gabor Talmacsi’s 2007 125 GP championship winning Aprilia Racing RSV125 which captured the title with him after a hard-fought battle with team-mate Hector Faubel. Talmacsi won two races, six second places and one third en route to the championship.
