You can tell Winter is on the way when the annual press releases arrive recommending the virtues of heated grips. Then again, if you’ve never experienced the benefits of a pair on a freezing cold day, you could probably do with the persuasion.
So here we have the Daytona Heated Grips from Japan with a two-stage heating function, which are claimed to be simple to fit with specific instructions covering Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki and Yamaha wiring. The Daytona grips have a special ‘boost’ function to warm up quickly, and the second setting kicks in once they’re up to temperature. The grips are made with dual layer rubber designed to resist cracking and perishing, and the whole kit is built to withstand low temperature and moisture.

Once they’re up to temperature, they only need about 14W to operate, which is less than a standard halogen headlight bulb, they’re suitable for most bikes with 7/8 inch handlebars, come with everything you need to install, and have open ends in case you need to fit them over bar ends. They cost £59.99. Contact 01256 704909 or visit motohaus.com
