The BMW K1600 Bagger arrived in 2017 as a large, comfortable cruiser for eating up massive mileage. And it’s rather good as standard, but some people always want more. The larger Wunderlich Ergo 2 screen for the BMW K1600 Bagger offers even better protection from the win and rain, for example.
The screen isn’t simply larger. It’s also designed slightly differently. Wunderlich have added their own air-flow breakaway edge which should reduce turbulence and wind pressure. And also a new raised contour, which can lower the amount of buffeting you’ll experience around your helmet.
The diagram below shows the outline of the original screen in red, and the larger Wunderlich Ergo 2 screen for the BMW K1600 Bagger in blue. You can see that the screen is actually a different shape. So although it’s slightly taller, it’s also narrower at a couple of places.
The Wunderlich screen is made from 5mm thick Lexan, which is resistant to scratches, breakages, UV light, fuel and hairline cracks. As well as being tough, it also has a new type of construction to reduce vibrations. And it’s designed to avoid distorting your vision when you’re looking through it. The Ergo 2 is finished off by being laser-rounded with a polished edge.
It’s road legal and TUV approved, and comes with a five year warranty against defects. The larger Wunderlich Ergo 2 Screen for the BMW K1600 Bagger also fits the K1600GT, K1600GTL and K1600 Sport models, and costs £225 including VAT in your choice of clear or tinted finish.
