With the popularity of scooters across Europe, and new emission restrictions, manufacturers are making some changes. Which is why the 2017 Peugeot Tweet will now come with the 125cc Easymotion fuel inject engine. And whereas the Euro4-inspired loss of bikes like the CBR600RR have caused sadness, a cleaner, more fuel-efficient scooter isn’t a bad thing. Especially when the Tweet will return 117mpg (tested under World Motorcycle Test Cycle conditions, apparently).

The Tweet is a decent choice for commuting. The fact it has larger 16″ wheels makes it more stable, which is handy for pothole-ridden urban riding. And for those switching from larger motorcycles or cars. Plus it’s also got adjustable twin rear shocks to prevent you and your luggage or pillion from being shaken up too much.
Also distracting from the frankly still rubbish name is the introduction of the Synchro Braking Concept (SBC), which will operate both brakes when you pull the left lever. And it won’t lock up or drive at the front. If you do need extra stopping power in an emergency, you can still yank on the right-hand brake lever. You can choose between the SBC option, or full-ABS to have whichever braking assistance you prefer.
The 2017 Peugeot Tweet stays light at 109kg and narrow (690mm wide), so filtering shouldn’t be a problem. And there’s a lockable glove compartment, bag hook, luggage rack and underseat storage. For this year, the front panel gets LED signature lighting and the digital dashboard has been completely redesign and updated.
The Peugeot Tweet 125 SBC is available in Black, White, Grey or Blue, and costs £2,299 with a 2-year unlimited mileage parts and labour warranty. The Peugeot Tweet 125 ABS will set you back £2,499 and comes in Black, Grey or White.
