The Ducati Scrambler is proving to be a winner for the Italian motorcycle manufacturer. It’s selling well, which means aftermarket firms also have a reason to be interested. And SW Motech have got a bit of a headstart by bringing out the first crash bars for classic-styled bike. Especially for new riders and commuters, rather than track day addicts.
The bars should minimise the damage in the event of an accident. And given the cost of parts like engine casings and bodywork, they can be a good investment. Even a low speed fall can crack an engine casing, as we know from our own misfortune.
The SW Motech crash bars are made from 22mm heavy-duty steel, and are powder coated to prevent rust. They fit to existing mounting points, so there’s no need to mess with your Scrambler. And they add minimal width, so won’t hold you up when filtering.
They don’t look too out of place on the bike, and will fit the Scrambler Icon, Urban Enduro, Classic and Full Throttle, priced at £136.39.
