You can’t have escaped seeing our coverage of various custom Ducati Scramblers, including the SC-Rumble and Eccythump. Well, they and more motorcycles will be on display at events in England and France.
First up is the Wheels and Waves 2015 event, which is taking place from June 11th-14th. The SC-Rumble was ridden from London by the guys at Vibrazioni Art Design who built it, down from Calais to the venue at Biarritz. They were joined by the S.C.R. Scrambler special of Mr Martini.
Another custom Ducati will join them at Wheels and Waves, with the ‘Magione’ created by Belgian builder Fred Krugger, who won the Custom Bike Building World Championship in 2010 and 2014. His Scrambler has had changes to the tank and frame, with a single-seater metal tail fairing and a new tubular steel swing arm. There’s also now a high-mounted dual silencer on the overhauled exhaust system.
And there are still more Scramblers meeting up in Biarritz, including the ‘Hondo Grattan’ by Deus Ex Machina, ‘Scratch’ by Officine Mermaid and Hero1, built by Holographic Hammer and Moto Heroes. Plus there’s a display of art work dedicated to the bike by Japanese artist Gao Nishikawa.
If you’re currently grumpy about the French having all the luck, then relax and make a date for the Cholmodeley Pagent of Power.
That’s right, there’s no more British-sounding alternative on June 12th-14th. And first up as an attraction is the Ducati Manchester & Paul Eccleshare ‘DMC Eccythump’
Who needs sun, sands, fine food and great wine when we still have beautiful motorcycles to look at in Cheshire. Plus there are trials and stunt demonstration rides by the legendary Dougie Lampkin, drag bikes and cars, and air shows by the Red Bull Matadors and the last ever flight of the Vulcan Bomber over Cheshire.
And they’re holding the first ever concours competition for American muscle cars and 80’s supercars, a parade of every production Lotus, and lots of track action and competitions.
Bikes of interest will include a 1926 Flying Millyard which was geared for more than 120mph. And there’s the v10, 500bhp, 2009 Millyard Viper, a 1969 Honda CR750 and an ex-Sete Gibernau 2006 Ducati Desmosedici MotoGP bike.
