Ever get a feeling of deja vu? It took longer than I’d like to admit to make the link between the new Keis Premium J501 Heated Jacket, and the Keis V501 Heated Vest which came out at the start of October. The two products are pretty similar. And I’m going to go out on a limb (pun intended), and suggest the J and V might just stand for jacket and vest.
In fact the Keis Premium J501 Heated Jacket looks identical to the vest. Except it now has sleeves and a collar. But it shares the same soft shell fabric construction, and also uses the same micro carbon fibre panels to spread heat evenly around, whilst being more flexible. And those panels come with a lifetime warranty.
So what are the differences, I hear you ask? Well, there are the sleeves and collar. The handy arm coverings include elasticated cuffs so they’ll work better under motorcycle jackets and gloves. The collar will keep your neck warm. And it’ll cost slightly more – the Keis Premium J501 Heated Jacket costs £50 more than the vest at £199. Also the sizing is slightly reduced, with chest sizes 36″-50″, so if you have a 52″ chest, it’s the vest only.
Other than those differences, the J501 jacket and V501 vest are essentially the same. Even down to Keis including a Heavy Duty Heat Controller worth £34.99 as a free introductory offer. So if a warmer neck and arms are worth a little more, then buy the jacket. And if you like your arms unencumbered or want to display your ‘guns’ while staying warm, then go for the vest.
