New Weise Pioneer jackets have been released for male and female riders. They’ve been based on feedback from existing customers. Which means they have a decent range of features for the price, and the version for ladies isn’t just a pink jacket.
In terms of the features, your gender won’t make any diference. The textile motorcycle jackets have a 600 Denier outer shell with reflective details. And there’s removable CE-approved armour at the shoulders, elbows and back.
Obviously you want a textile jacket to be able to handle bad weather and changing conditions. So there’s a waterproof and breathable drop liner inside. And the main zipper is a YKK job, with a Velcro storm flap over it to stop water getting in.
The Weise Pioneer jackets also have a removable 120-gram thermal quilted lining. So that should keep you pretty warm. And when the weather is better, you can take it out, and open the ventilation zips at the shoulders, chest and back to get a nice cool airflow.
Everyone is built slightly differently. So there are Velcro and poppers for adjustment at the waist, arms, collar and cuffs. So you can get the jacket to fit properly, and also increase the space underneath if you’re wearing extra layers. If you also have some Weise trousers, then you can use the internal 8-inch zip to connect them, which is handy to stop gaps appearing, and also to keep your kit together in the event of a crash.
There’s a selection of external and internal pockets in the Weise Pioneer jackets. And while the exact number isn’t specified, we do know there’s a large map pocket at the back. Although in the age of sat-navs and smartphones, it’s probably going to be more use as a way to carry overtrousers or other clothing. Or at least keeping some visor wipes with you at all times.
The Weise Pioneer jackets will cost you £149.99. The male version is available in sizes S-5XL in a choice of plain Black, Black/Orange or Black/Neon Yellow. The female version comes in sizes 10-18, in Black, Black/Neon Yellow or Black/Purple. And Weise products come with a no-quibble two-year warranty to ensure you get good value for money.
