There are now a range of Skidmarx screens for the Aprilia RSV4 RF and RR superbikes. The options include a standard replacement, race version, and a double bubble screen for extra protection on the 200hp Italian motorcycles.
So first up is the Skidmarx replacement standard screen which is available in a choice of clear or tinted versions. It’s made in tough 3mm cast acrylic and fits directly into place of the original. Handy if you need a new screen or fancy a darker version. The standard screen will cost you £59.95.
Next up, the Skidmarx Double Bubble screen for the Aprilia RSV4. This is also made from the same 3mm acrylic. And again, it’s a straight swap with the normal screen. But you should now get a bigger air pocket for protection from the wind at higher speeds. That’s because the double bubble screen is 70mm deeper, which doesn’t sound like a lot, but makes a big difference. You can pick from clear, light or dark grey tints for £64.95.
There is also a Skidmarx screen for track and race use. So if you’re planning a track day on your Aprilia RSV4, or a season of racing, then you might well want to replace the original screen. These versions are made from 2mm cast acrylic and are 33% thinner than the ones for road bikes. That’s partly to save weight, and also to give better clarity through the screen. After all, you’re more likely to be crouched behind the screen on track. And in theory, there should be a lot less rubbish and debris to worry about when you’re riding on a circuit.
The Skidmarx race screens are only available in a clear finish. And they’ll set you back £49.95.
