Sometimes a picture tells a thousand words, and this image of the grid at Snetterton in 1994 does just that…
But in case you want more information, photographer Graham Etheridge kindly provided some additional background.
It’s the grid for the start of the second BSB race at Snetterton on Sunday, May 22, 1994. James Haydon won the first leg in the pouring rain to provide the first win for the Honda RC45 anywhere in the world.
Sadly it was Mark Farmer’s last race as he sadly died whilst riding the Britten in practice for the Isle of Man TT a few days later.
The line-up from left to right is:
- Phil Borley: Norton
- James Haydon: Honda
- Mark Farmer: Yamaha
- Jim Moodie: Yamaha
- Matt Llewellyn: Ducati
We hope to feature more pictures from Graham’s amazing archive in the future.
